Nearly nine out of ten appropriated dollars are spent by the ten largest agencies. While the state has over 75 appropriated agencies, most of the appropriated dollars go to only a few of the largest. The ten largest agencies receive 89.5 percent of all appropriations, while the other 68 appropriated agencies receive 10.5 percent. The two largest agencies, Common Education (State Department of Education) and Higher Education, receive half the appropriations. The Oklahoma Health Care Authority is the only other agency to receive over ten percent of appropriations; its share has grown rapidly over the last decade.
